Neuropsychological Testing
Neuropsychological Testing
These are structured tests that measure memory, attention, language, and problem-solving skills to assess how the brain is functioning.
• Why it matters: Helps identify learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and effects of brain injury.
• In children: Tests are age-adjusted and can detect early cognitive delays that might affect school performance.
• Statistic: About 15% of U.S. children aged 3–17 have at least one developmental disability (CDC, 2024).
• What families should know: These tests take several hours and are done by licensed psychologists.
